Thomas Graves, II
Born in El Dorado, Arkansas, attended the University of Oklahoma, and served as a Lieutenant in the USN during the Korean War. After the war joined Murphy Oil Corporation, ultimately serving in various middle management and executive capacities. Married to Sammie for 56 years and with her have 2 children and 3 grandchildren. Left Murphy to join Ingram Industries, Inc. in Nashville, Tennessee, retiring as a Vice President of the coal company. Have lived in El Dorado; Nashville, Chicago and London, England. Shortly after retirement, moved to Houston to be near our daughter and her family. In Presbyterian Church for over fifty years, having been ordained in the early 1970’s, serving as an active elder in three different churches, including First, Houston. Activities in previous locations include: Chairman of the Finance Committee, Chairman of the Board of Deacons and Clerk of the Session. At First Houston have served as chair of the Senior Adult Ministry, Courts and Permanent Funds Committees. Also, have served on two Presbytery Committees, Senior Adult and Connectional Ministries.
